Candlestick Set in Dogwood White, 13"h (Ben Owen III) Lily Jar If fired in the wood

If fired in the wood kiln with no salt added to the firing

The copper glaze is a blend of materials that will react to the smoke and flame from the firing process

This unique teapot design is directly influenced by Ben III’s time spent studying traditional ceramic art in Japan

The Cobalt and Yellow Matte glazes were applied to the piece before loading the kiln and the Natural Ash glaze that developed during the firing provides the fluid movement for beautiful glaze drips

This glaze is a glossy bright red with dark spots or streaks running throughout the glaze with variations on each piece caused by red pigments burning out during the firing
