While other MTG mana colours like to take a more considered approach to the game, Red is all about ending things quickly and efficiently
There are some interesting interactions like with Isochron Scepter and Chrome Mox, but its mainly used like a card like Burst Lightning where its flexibility more than makes up for the lack of efficiency
For the moment Im still skeptical because drawing non-miracles you need right now is often very important, especially when chaining cantrips together, but that doesnt mean Im not going to run Portent through a few games at least
It protects against bends, scratches, dust, and moisture, keeps values rising (mint cards grade easier, sell faster), and makes showing off your wins a delight
Being single color means it can go into more decks and even when its not convoked, it has a perfectly reasonable casting cost for exiling any nonland permanent
